This child is always criticized for being neglectful, unable to finish his duties, not focusing on classes, hating school, neglecting his lessons more, and entering into an endless cycle.

Unfortunately, the child will be exposed to bullying from his colleagues and those around him, and this weakens his self-confidence and makes him more vulnerable to introversion, isolation .

Causes

70-80% of cases have genetic factors
But there are other causes as:

  • Organic reasons as Decreased or delayed development of the anterior part of the cerebral cortex
  • Disorders of brain chemicals: Especially the harmony between dopamine and noradrenaline
  • Family and social problems
  • Exposure to environmental and emotional deprivation
  • Exposure to psychological, physical or sexual violence or abuse
  • Wrong eating habits, fast food and soft drinks
  • Television, the Internet, communication devices, viewing programs and video games
  • Especially violent and inappropriate content for the child's age

Is there a cure??

First, there are many cases with symptoms that ease with them entering the adolescence period, but of course early medical intervention is better and we avoid any other psychological complications.

Secondly, our treatment consists of many parts

Awareness in the school, club and community to take into account children who have disorder and how to deal with them

Parents training program on how to deal and support the child

  • Stop blaming, criticizing and making accusations
I love my son, accept him in all cases.. It is a disorder that means he needs me to help and support him.
  • Protect the child from dangers; keep him away from anything he might tumble into or any sharp objects that might be on his side.
  • Stop physical punishment and psychological abuse
  • Divide the tasks on the child for smaller and easier tasks
  • Encouragement and a positive reward system for completing tasks
  • Reducing anything that can distract the child, such as loud sounds, colors, many sounds, and many games at one time
  • We allocate time for the child daily to play, protect, care and express freely
  • We try to organize the child's time and reduce the times of television, the Internet, programs and video games
  • We care about sports and healthy food

Third the behavioral therapy sessions, which are available in all our hospitals in the units of children and adolescents with doctors and specialists, in which the child is trained through games and exercises to control his movement, increase his attention and reduce his impulsivity
