1st mental hospital in Kafr Al sheikh

In a new step to advance the health system, mental health and addiction treatment, based on the guidance of Mr. A. D. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, to expand the provision of mental health services and addiction treatment in many governorates of the Republic, commissioned by a. D. Menen Abdul Maqsood, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, today a delegation from the General Secretariate headed to Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, to receive a land area of 300. A health unit (not exploited) is located in the village of "Islah Deqlat" of Kafr El Sheikh Center, in order to establish a new mental health and addiction treatment hospital, to serve the people of the governorate and areas deprived of those mental health services and addiction treatment in the Delta sector.

This came as a result of the decision of Major General Jamal Nour-Din, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh No. 2 on August 22, which ensured the transfer of administrative and state supervision on the piece of land from the governorate of health affairs to the Ministry of Health and Population represented in the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment (for free)

The delegation of the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment included the directors of the departments of planning and follow-up, financial and administration, legal affairs, the body and budgeting, engineering management, and financial inspection.

The delivery of the land from the Directorate of Health Affairs in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate was also attended by the directors of Planning Departments, Financial and Administrative Inspection, and Legal Affairs.

It is stated that the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment provides its services to citizens in the Delta sector through seven hospitals: Banha, Wanta, Shbein Al-Koum and Mit Sarah in Menoufia, Azazi in Sharqiyah, Damira in Dakahlia, and Sharaqas in the Western Governorate.
