Psychosis & Schizophrenia
It can happen when you take too much of a certain drug like (Hash, Synthetic cannabinoids, Alcohol, stimulants) so that its level of toxicity provokes paranoia and a psychotic episode. It can also occur when if you have an adverse reaction from mixing different substances, or withdrawing from a drug. It can occur within 1 month of abuse and it can continue more than one month. It can wear off after drugs stoppage and called substance induced psychosis or last for longtime even after stoppage of drugs and it is called substance related psychosis.
It can be:
- False fixed beliefs that can’t change with the fact (Delusions)
- Hallucinations that occur when one perceives unexciting perceptions.
- Disturbed behavior like agitation, aggression
- Change in form and way of speech
- Change in awareness that can lead to decrease speech time, interest of life.
- Social withdrawal and lack of motivation
- Poor self-hygiene and grooming.
