Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
Involves excessive anxiety and worry that is difficult to control and occurs more days than not for at least 6 months. The anxiety is pervasive, unreasonable, and involves worrying excessively about many situations, not just specific events. It Involves three or more associated symptoms:
- Restlessness/feeling keyed up/on edge
- Easily fatigued
- Difficulty concentrating/mind going blank
- Irritability
- Muscle tension
- Insomnia.
The anxiety causes significant distress or impairment for the individual
