Treatment of addiction between science and religion

In continuation of the awareness role played by the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment to remove the stigma of mental illness and awareness of addiction among university students as part of the "Appreciated than others" campaign within the framework of the Year of Adolescent Mental Health, and at the generous invitation of the Faculty of Religious Origins at Al-Azhar University, which hosted a seminar on Wednesday (March 23rd) entitled "Treatment of addiction between science and religion". The seminar began with an opening speech by Professor Dr. Menin Abdel Maksoud, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, highlighting the services provided by the Secretariat, hospitals and its centers to citizens and introducing the secretariat's hotline, as well as services provided by the National Electronic Platform for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, recently launched by the Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Population and the World Health Organization. Following the Secretary-General's speech, Dr. Wael Mansour, consultant psychiatrist at the Secretariat, gave a lecture on the definition of addiction disease and ways of prevention and treatment.
